Hello Everyone
Currently, Kids Zone have been running a promotion campaign since 3rd January 2023, where users can guess their next anime dub.
Unlike their previous promotion for One Punch Man, which only had 4 anime to choose from (Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Demon Slayer and One Punch Man), this new campaign started with TWENTY anime to guess from.
A huge jump to be honest, which is why I thought to write a small article discussing some of the most likely prospects.
Some of you may have already seen my YouTube comments and have seen the top 3 anime that I thought would have the best chance (2 of them have already been removed XD), however, I thought I would do an article on here so it could be more permanent.
Today, Kids Zone didn't release any new picture, despite still having 12 anime left to choose from. They are:
What you must keep in mind is that even though Kids Zone have said many times they prefer to look at family friendly content, they still decided to dub and air One Punch Man.
This means anime on this list which have a similar level of violence and mature themes as One Punch Man may have a decent chance to be The One, but it's still more likely to be a child friendly pick.
First, let's look at the ones with almost no hope (I say almost, because there's always a chance of a surprise, and Allah swt can make anything happen!).
The easiest one to dismiss from this list is Tokyo Revengers. While OPM (One Punch Man) does have fights and violence, there isn't normally a lot of blood and it is still quite comedic. Tokyo Revngers can get gory and has a more serious storyline, so it doesn't use violence as a punchline like OPM sometimes does. Seraph of the End is also unlikely for the same reason.
Now, let's look at the "middling" anime. The ones that push the boundaries of Kids Zone's child friendly content but still aren't too adult like the previous 2.
Let's start with Attack on Titan. Now, honestly speaking, I personally don't think this could be the announcement, because I think AOT really pushes the boundaries of what might be acceptable for Kids Zone. However, after watching One Punch Man's censorship, I don't think the visual content will be too much of an issue. The story content on the other hand, is quite mature and dark, and isn't really suited to the target audience. However, it is a very popular request, so this could perhaps be a darkhorse.
Next, I'm going to band together Bleach, My Hero Academia, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, Spy x Family, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer. While Demon Slayer is perhaps one of the more visually violent programmes compared to the others, its got a very clean story and good characters, and has been proven very popular with children. The other 6 anime are also similar, in that they have some fight scenes and action, but also a lot of comedy. The serious and humorous parts are balanced well in all of these anime, and censorship wouldn't be a big issue.
All of these would be popular picks, as they appeal to teenagers and kids because they have good, fun stories, but also have some mature themes as well.
The last 2 anime on this list are the ones that would suit Kids Zone the best, as basically zero censorship would be needed.
This doesn't mean they're not good.
Saint Seiya is an extremely popular anime across the whole world, with a fantastic OST to boot. It has a long, epic tale for its young heroes filled with battles, and has a very classic and timeless appeal to it.
It would be an announcement that may seem out of the blue, as Saint Seiya has never really had much attention in Pakistan, however, I'm sure it would do well.
The last anime is the one I think is most likely, and has been in my Top 3 since this campaign started.
Inazuma Eleven is a great, entertaining football anime that's very child friendly, and would be a perfect fit for Kids Zone's channel. It was an anime that I loved watching in my own childhood, however, it was really held back by the poor quality of the English dub. Having a fresh, quality Urdu dub, and the simple story and strong characters and hype football games, will surely make this a highly rated programme for Kids Zone.
It also makes a perfect replacement for Turning Mecard and Bakugan, and adds some variety into the Kids Zone Schedule
Hopefully, we should find out the new anime within the week, so I hope you found this analysis interesting and insightful.
